The second Emma saw the old Victorian house she was sold, purchasing it for herself as a place to work and disappear from the world. But the home of her dreams soon turns into one of nightmares as strange things begin happening in the dead of night. Things that even the resident black cat seems to notice and object to.

Jack is used to mysteries, after all he writes them. But the mysteries at the old Victorian house across the street are more than even he could have imagined. With the activity increasing, he's more than happy to dive in and help the houses owner out, quickly finding out in the process that not everything is as it seems.

Now they'll have to work together to solve the century old mystery, finding out what happened to its former owners and just what has been slumbering deep within the walls. Will they be able to shine a light on its darkest secrets before it's too late? And can true love win in the end?
