You are in for a wild ride!
??"Ruckus at the Ranch" is a western story written by Carol and Richard Young, with illustrations by Mary Mamotova. Set in the era when cowboys rode herds of cows and buffalo, the narrative revolves around the characters Dusty Roads, Slim, and Buffalo Sal.
Dusty Roads is a hardworking cowboy, while his partner Slim is portrayed as lazy and not very smart. Buffalo Sal, the kind and fair ranch owner, struggles to put up with Slim's lack of responsibility and work ethic. Slim often shirks his duties, choosing instead to play, sleep, or hide outdoors. This greatly contrasts with Dusty's diligence and hard work. One day, Slim decides to steal a fiery black thoroughbred horse to escape the ranch. However, Slim's lack of knowledge and experience with handling horses leads to a dangerous situation where he ends up galloping uncontrollably towards a tree.
