With the success of Vigneron Winery, and having things they had only dreamed of, Brock and Maude Skinner are living their best life, one that some would call vain and meaningless. While at the horse track with Maude's brother, Marcel, and his wife Valerie, Brock's suspicion is piqued over the new arrivals in Hazard, Kentucky, Abner Giles and Omar Cru. Omar's mountaintop art studio and Abner's mansion are on adjacent parcels of land. Are the two men connected? As usual, Brock smells a rat and wants to know exactly what they are up to.

It seems everything about these newcomers is suspicious, even how they came to purchase the mountaintop location in Hazard. With the Skinner's winery just across the ridge, Brock sets up a high-powered scope to record activities at Omar's place. Meanwhile at a Greek cafe in Lexington, Marcel witnesses something that appears otherworldly between Omar and a college professor, Saul Sardis. Was it real or an illusion created by artificial intelligence? As the pieces of the puzzle begin to come together, Brock and Marcel agree that they're uncovering a high-tech scam with a sinister underbelly.
