Crow and Bluebird governments lead to the former children that were a part of it being on the run, either solo or with their adoptive parents when it expires and they are due to be sent back to their biological parents. Knowing nothing else but what it is like to live in the Bluebird Territory, Amethyst is on the run with her adoptive mom with the help of a close family friend. Unfortunately, checkpoints between Bluebird Stream and Arestomer further complicate things. All Amethyst wants is to end the unrelenting pain she has had since she was a teenager and have a normal life.
