Welcome to The Big Blue Resort nestled in a secluded section of the Great Smoky Mountains. Ten floors, seven with rooms, the resort can house around three hundred fifty people. The hotel during peak season is staffed with fifty employees. Fall is prime time with the changing of the autumn leaves. There is one access road to the resort guaranteeing a secluded stay. Amenities such as horseback riding, bicycling, and walking trails offer what most visitors cherish, the closest thing to an all-inclusive in the shadows of the mountains. Try to pace yourself and keep your mind open to almost anything. Be thankful you are the reader and not a tourist in a destination where you might be absent on arrival. Jay and Mira Myers arrive at their resort in the Smokey Mountains hopeful of rekindling their strained relationship, a marriage in need of repair. While Jay searches for a parking spot in the garage, Mira sets out on foot to retrieve a luggage cart. And so begins the mystery. Where is everyone, including his wife now missing in action? Something sinister and beyond bizarre has happened. Jay searches for answers, someone, anyone that can explain where everybody has gone. The hotel parking garage indicates the resort should be at maximum capacity yet there are no signs of the typical hustle and bustle that accompanies the peak fall foliage season. Jay is on an unsolved story mission to determine what has gone awry, including locating his wife. He quickly finds he is entangled in a quagmire of ever evolving twists and plots void of viable solutions. Toss logic and reasonable deduction out the window. Nothing makes sense no matter how Jay attempts to rationalize the consequences. Thankfully, being alone is not a forever endless story. The question remains though, can unlikely allies impact an uncertain outcome and reconcile the horrors haunting those trapped in a resort hell? Those seeking refuge quickly realize that there is no such thing as a life preserver in crocodile infested waters. Fighting an unseen foe in murky surroundings offer little hope for those exhausting all chances of an equal playing field. Herded like lab rats in a maze, survivors eventually understand the severity and seriousness of their seemingly 'no win' situation. For every good there is an evil counterpart, a protagonist versus an equally challenging antagonist. Good defeats evil in fairytales but in real life the outcome is never a sure bet. What will be the odds in this Smokey Mountain epic encounter? If asked, Jay Myers might say he is not the typical stereotype for a hero, but leaders are not always born to blaze the trail. Sometimes it takes the least likely to overcome insurmountable odds. Will Jay be that person or will someone off the bench become the ultimate change agent in the biggest game ever played?
