As Many As I Love …

WHY THIS BOOK?
In the 130 years since Seventh-day Adventists first understood Christ's Laodicean message as applicable directly to them, this is probably the first book that probes deeply into the nature of the repentance He calls for from us.
Some stumbling block has long held up the world-wide finishing of the great commission. Although the only direct command from our Lord in the Laodicean message is, "Be zealous ... and repent," there has never been a serious, denomination-wide response to this call! Could this point the way to the ultimate solution to our problem of spiritual inertia and lukewarmness?
What does it mean to "repent"? Is the call limited to in-dividual, personal repentance? If so, haven't multitudes of church members personally repented before they died during the past 130 years?
Or is the call essentially to corporate and denominational repentance? If so, how should we repent? Is there a repentance appropriate for good people? Can the organized church repent?
An inspired messenger says that Christ "experienced repentance in behalf of the human race" How could the only sinless Person in the world repent? Is His repentance an ex-ample of that which the remnant church must experience before Christ can come?
