Matt Durand

Efrem 'Bombo' Dunn is a sixth-grade basketball prodigy with dreams of being an NBA all-time great. The only problem is thathe's never played a single game in his life. After suffering a traumatic experience when he was six, he developed a crippling fear of people, challenging his path to basketball superstardom. When a local middle school basketball coach discovers Bombo's talents, he sets him up with an old friend, Dre Freeman, a psychologist at Yale. Dre and his nephew, Idris, work together to overcome Bombo's anxieties in the hopes of helping him enroll in middle school, where he could attempt to make the basketball team.

As Bombo learns to deal with his issues, the sudden reappearance of his father threatens to unravel all the hard work he's put in and jeopardizes his dreams.
