The year is 1875 in Texas. Nine-year-old Carter Wade is kidnapped by Indians. His father, Clay Wade, pursues the kidnappers deep into south Texas all the way to the Mexican border where he is attacked and kidnapped by Mexican Comancheros who are involved with human smuggling.
While rescuing his son, Clay also rescues a beautiful, young redhead being held by the Comancheros. During their escape they are pursued across Texas by the renegades, and the big Black Apache, Black Wolf. The young woman never seems to be safe as the story takes another twist; her husband may be involved with her kidnappers.In the struggle to escape her husband, the Indians, and the Comancheros, she meets and falls in love with Clay's friend, Wille Stanton; but with her husband gunning for them, their romance struggles to survive, as well as their lives.
