Lucky Penny is a visit to the 1970’s of Columbus Ohio, where the narrator accidentally finds a delightful neighborhood, while recovering from love lost. Visits to a skilled counselor reveal the scars from an abusive childhood. The narrator is an artist working for a sign company, that teaches him many life lessons. To become friends with a deaf co-worker, he learns sign language and finger spelling. After much self-discovery, a path forward becomes apparent.
