Denice Garcia Benders, better known as Lady D, is a dedicated single mother of four beautiful children. Despite living with disabilities, she refuses to let any challenge stand in the way of her ambitions. Writing has been a passion of hers since she was ten years old, and her journey has been deeply inspired by the support of her beloved grandmother, her best friend, and her mother. Denice's love for literature blossomed when her mother introduced her to literary icons such as Nikki Giovanni, Alice Walker, and Maya Angelou. These powerful voices, especially Nikki Giovanni, whom Denice has had the privilege of meeting several times, have been monumental influences in her life and writing career. Driven by her passion for storytelling, Denice is also committed to opening doors for individuals in the deaf, hard of hearing, and blind communities. She aims to inspire others to believe that no dream is too far out of reach, regardless of the obstacles they face.
