In 2022, this Harvard student covered the lives of several gig workers from Manila to Arizona, Massachusetts, New York, and Los Angeles.
The result is Acts Beyond the Apps: a photo book inspired by the workers in the currently in-demand gig economy. It contains 33 photos that capture gig workers’ everyday lives, focusing primarily on delivery service workers. Heartfelt and touching, Acts Beyond the Apps emphasizes that although we see them as our new-normal heroes and frontliners, gig workers are very human and see, feel, and act as we all do.
