Yara Rivers has never thought of herself as particularly unusual. She doesn't like the company of her classmates at school, lives a simple life with her aunt, and suffers from debilitating headaches which are often accompanied by vivid daydreams.

But when three Guardians, including a shape shifter and a nymph, warn her of a mad scientist who wants to kidnap her, Yara's ordinary life gets turned upside down. Her daydreams are actually visions of the future, and she must discover if her fate is set in stone or if she has control over her own destiny.
