Onyria has lived a life of constant fear that death could snatch her or her father every coming winter, but when her father's lie to the king is discovered, death might come sooner than she expected. Now locked in a tower high in the clouds and full of straw, Onyria's only escape is certain death through the only arched window.

When a mischievous shadow visits her, he gives her two choices: she can either rot in her prison and await death, or Onyria can give him what she values most and he can grant her one wish. Intrigued but also taken aback by his offer, Onyria explores her options before ultimately giving up the one thing her mother ever gave her.

Games with trickster beings, deals with wicked kings, and protection from an ancient goddess await Onyria through her journey, but the fates woven threads have plans for Onyria, and not even the gods or the Weaver can save her from the clutches of Chaos.
