This is a continuation of the story Tawny and Brownie, A Mare and a Pronghorn becomes friends in New Mexico. In the first story, These two lonely animals meet and become friends. They live on the prairies next to the Sangre de Cristo mountains in northern New Mexico. They become very buddies, and when Tawny gets caught under a barb wire fence, Brownie gets her ranch owner Roy to help save him. The second story tells of Tawny's journey back to find his pronghorn family, where he meets his future mate, Joy. On one of their journeys they are caught in a heavy snowstorm. Tawny finds his way back to the shelter at Brownie's ranch, where Joy gives birth to twin pronghorns. Brownie meets the new family, and then proudly shows off two new colts that keep her company. They vow to keep an everlasting friendship.
