The Unfinished Temple

On the third of August, 1831, Joseph Smith Jr. consecrated a field in Missouri for the first temple of the Dispensation of the Fulness of Times. The field is still empty; that temple was never built. The absence of that temple speaks to an absence that looms within the church itself.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are Christians. They tend to be honest people and good neighbors. But within the doctrinal boundaries of the church, certain questions of theology are unanswered (left on the shelf as it were)-particularly the doctrine of Heavenly Mother.
