Mary, a black woman and highly acclaimed romance novelist with a bad case of writer's block, knows all about love until her high-school sweetheart files for divorce. Still grieving the recent loss of her mother and grandmother, she's having a hard time processing the divorce at the height of her career and ripe age of 30. She decides to visit her favorite diner for inspiration, a place that her mother and grandmother took her as a child. Upon arrival, she encounters a gorgeous and ethereal dark-skinned man who's seated alone.
