In a future society on the verge of collapse, social media have become so powerful that by law people are categorized and graded according to their social media performance - a composite value called "The Number." To hold a job one must achieve and maintain a minimum value of The Number, all in the name of economic and social stability. But The Number has unforeseen consequences when an outbreak of "Social Media Disorders" sweeps the country. Maddie, a sensitive young artist, is driven into despair and breakdown when she fails to achieve The Number, but out of her madness she begins a journey to discover her real creative potential.
