The first half of the poems, The Dark, focus on the complex emotions we face in modern society, especially as women, to wear a mask for the world. These words illuminate the struggle we face in stale relationships, the burden of responsibility, and the struggle of expectations. The second half of the poems, The Fire, seeks to inspire you to find the courage to rise up above expectations and find your own fulfillment.
