Eight-year-old Serena Woods is a happy, bubbly child who loves friends, family and her dogs Calypso, Mango and Corn Beef. She goes to Golden Brookes Primary School with her best friend Ashanti. She's excited to learn new things and meet new people as summer ends and the new term begins.

Lunchtime brings happiness and fun - until mean Jeremiah Sanders breaks the Golden Rule and leaves Ashanti in tears! Now Serena has to confront the bully and comfort her friend. Jeremiah doesn't care and Ashanti no longer wants to come to school.
