The Invisible Man is a science fiction novel by II. G. Wells published in 1897. The novel depicts the life of a scientist named Griffin who has gone mad. Having learned how to make himself invisible, Griffin begins to use his invisibility for nefarious purposes, including murder. Written from a third-person point of view, the novel helped establish H. G. Wells as the "father of science fiction"
