L'Esercito dei regni di Napoli e di Sicilia, dopo la Restaurazione del 1815 cambia la propria denominazione in esercito delle Due Sicilie, spesso citato nei testi come Real Esercito o Esercito napoletano o, impropriamente, Esercito borbonico. Correttamente il nuovo nome venne formalizzato solo nel 1816 con la Legge fondamentale del Regno delle Due Sicilie. Ferdinando, fino ad allora III di Sicilia e IV di Napoli, istitui una nuova entita statuale, il Regno delle Due Sicilie, ed assunse il titolo di Re del Regno delle Due Sicilie. La vicenda di questo esercito prosegui naturalmente negli anni in cui visse e duro la dinastia borbonica fino al fatale 1861. In questo secondo volume dedicato alle forze borboniche del periodo napoleonico vengono mostrate, attraverso le tavole del Cenni tutti i passaggi dallo stile francese a quello anglo austriaco, o per meglio dire tutte le strane commistioni tipiche di questo grande esercito meridionale a sguito della restaurazione decisa dal Congresso di Vienna del 1815.
