Archimedes’ Principle
Paulo Roberto de Freitas Da Silva
The difficulties encountered in the teaching and learning of physics in secondary schools, both by teachers and students, have long been known, largely due to the use of a single methodology, based on lectures and the exclusive use of the blackboard and chalk. It is also well known that many of the contents necessary for the proper education of students are often neglected and/or omitted at this stage of education. This reality is quite common in public high schools, since the physical conditions available to teachers and students are generally precarious and insufficient, a reality that is made even worse by the short time available for classes. Within this context, Archimedes' Principle - A Proposal for High School, analyzes the possible benefits that the use of a low-cost teaching laboratory can bring to improving the teaching and learning processes of Physics at this stage of education, especially for public schools, where the scarcity and precarious conditions of teaching laboratories is the current reality.
