This paper presents research carried out at the Tia Mireta Municipal School in the municipality of Santa Rosa do Tocantins. It is an investigation into the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) for learning maths, specifically Facebook. This work aims to investigate the process of teaching and learning maths via social networks, especially Facebook. It was motivated by the fact that it is a social network that is widely accessed by young people. Questionnaires were administered to three primary school teachers. The aim was to research: Do teachers at the Tia Mireta Municipal School in the municipality of Santa Rosa (TO) use Facebook to teach maths? The analysis of the questionnaires showed that the use of these tools for learning maths can make learning motivating, but that the majority of teachers at this school do not use them, reflecting the lack of continuing training courses in the use of technology.
