Female entrepreneurship
Kelly Lima Fonseca Goncalves
Women, who have historically been penalised when it comes to formal employment, are now playing an important role in family income. This fact is accentuated in times of economic crisis and job cuts. Through descriptive exploratory research, women who own their own businesses were identified and socio-demographic data, type of enterprise and management knowledge for company development were analysed. The results were satisfactory and pointed to a significant level of knowledge, both in years of study and in the management of the enterprise. It also showed that the female entrepreneurs are on the right path to managing their businesses with a view to their success and longevity. Although the term entrepreneurship arouses euphoria in people, undertaking is not an easy task and the paths can be tortuous. In a country where the unemployment rate fluctuates and opportunities for new jobs are increasingly scarce, starting your own business seems like the best way out. At this point, it becomes necessary to analyse as many variables as possible so that the step can be taken safely and the longed-for dream can be achieved.
