Women’s Rights in Schools, Digital Spaces, and ICT Gender Violence

Esther Nguper Dansoho, Bartholomew Terfa Dansoho, Oryina Ikpenge

The digital age has introduced new forms of gender-based violence (GBV), impacting women in educational institutions and digital spaces. Protecting women's rights in these realms is crucial for gender equality and societal inclusivity. This study identifies GBV in education and digital contexts, analyzes its effects on women's rights and well-being, and proposes strategies for protection. Drawing on liberal feminism and feminist technology studies, it examines gender-technology dynamics through a literature review. Findings show women face various GBV forms in education, impacting their well-being and academic progress. Addressing this requires gender-sensitive policies, awareness campaigns, and collaboration. Safeguarding women's rights is vital for a just future, recommending enhanced laws, confidential reporting, and advocacy for gender equality.
