Sanitary napkins are indispensable for women's menstrual health, yet concerns persist regarding their potential carcinogenicity and environmental impact. Organic sanitary napkins offer a promising solution, being both gentle on the skin and environmentally friendly. This study addresses these concerns by extracting microcrystalline cellulose from waste peanut shells and utilizing it to produce organic sanitary napkins. The cellulose was confirmed through FT-IR analysis and exhibited antimicrobial properties against common bacteria. The organic napkins, incorporating microcrystalline cellulose, underwent quality tests such as liquid retention and moisture content, demonstrating their effectiveness. The study concludes that these organic cellulose-based napkins provide a viable alternative to plastic-based counterparts, offering improved absorbency and environmental sustainability. This research signifies a significant step towards enhancing women's health during menstruation while simultaneously addressing environmental challenges. Furthermore, it sets the stage for future innovations in napkin production from waste materials, fostering a sustainable approach to menstrual hygiene.
