Carbon Nanomaterials in Cement-Based Composites
P Rabchykau, N Kalinovskaya, E Batyanovsky
This study presents the results of research on carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) in cement-based composites. The aim was to understand the effect of CNMs on the chemical reactions of cement with water, the hydration products of cement and the overall performance in normal weight cement concrete. The authors investigated the effectiveness of different types of CNMs produced by different methods, determined the optimum dosages and studied the most effective methods of adding CNMs to concrete mixes. They evaluated changes in concrete technology and identified the practical applications of these materials.Central to the research is the investigation of the mechanism by which CNMs affect the hardening process of cement. By establishing a cause and effect relationship between CNMs and the properties of cement-based materials, the researchers aim to unlock the full potential of these innovative materials to improve concrete performance.
