The present investigation presents the characteristics of samples of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP), as recovered in the field.The RAP was recovered from the Tampico-Mante highway in Altamira, Tamaulipas, to be characterized in the materials laboratory and compared with the quality standards for asphalt mixtures of the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT). Subsequently, 1, 2, 3 and 4 % by weight of asphalt cement grade PG 70-16 was added to make specimens and their characterization, following the guidelines of a Marshall design, performing tests of granulometry, asphalt content, specific weight, flow and stability with the purpose of evaluating the compliance with the standard N-CMT-4-05-003/16, Quality of Asphalt Mixtures for Roads, of the SCT.Key words: RAP, recycled pavement, asphalt, asphalt mixtures.
