Care safety is a national priority, and hospital-acquired infections (HAI) are a challenge for hospital staff. Care safety and innocuousness require rigorous application of hospital hygiene rules. There is a close link between the failure of hospital hygiene and the occurrence of nosocomial infections. The aim of our work was to study nosocomial infections in a hospital in Tunis selected for the study. Our study identified 35 patients with nosocomial infections. Among nosocomial infections, urinary tract and pulmonary infections were the most frequent (34%), followed by bloodstream infections (26%) and skin infections (6%). Hospital-acquired infections are still a major concern in our country. The best way to combat nosocomial infections is through prevention, quality of care and ongoing training.
