This book deals with the implementation of music teaching in the municipal network of Seropedica/RJ. The main objectives were to uncover the main challenges and the prospects for continuity; to learn about the historical and legislative aspects of the municipality, as well as the pedagogical aspects of the schools; and to understand music teaching in the context of formal education in the municipal schools of Seropedica. Challenges and possibilities were mapped out for the continued implementation of the proposal in the context of ongoing teacher training. The methodology adopted the assumptions of the qualitative approach with the insertion of quantitative data. The following procedures were used: document collection, face-to-face meetings, observations, questionnaires, creation of categories based on the answers to the research instruments, construction of graphs and tables, data analysis and reflections on these. Finally, the book presents a synthesis of the results found and conclusions proposing how best to contribute to music education.
