The book investigates the history of Salesian education in Sao Luiz Gonzaga-RS (1958-2004), highlighting the arrival of the Salesian Sisters, the construction of their own building, the implementation of teacher training, the repercussions and transformations that took place in the educational, cultural, social and economic spheres of the municipality. The first chapter deals with the emergence of Salesian education and Don Bosco's meeting with Maria Mazzarello, which gave rise to the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians; the second deals with the negotiations between the people of Sao Luiz and the religious congregations, as well as the arrival of the sisters, the teaching system of the Salesian schools, the courses taught at the school and the festivities held in the community; the third chapter deals with the laying of the foundation stone, the construction of the new building, extensions and the reuse of the old space. The fourth and final chapter focuses on INSA's final years in the city and the reasons that led to its closure.
