Carpal tunnel syndrome is related to the compression and irritation of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel in the wrist, clinically characterized by the presence of sensory and/or motor symptoms mainly due to repetitive manual movement, according to studies that indicate that it represents 37% of occupational disease. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the occupational role and its relationship with carpal tunnel syndrome screening in workers of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital, Lima 2018. The study population was constituted by 2732 workers, For the execution of the research, a stratified simple random sampling was used, constituted by 71 assisting physicians, 94 nursing graduates, 42 nursing technicians, 19 physiotherapists and 17 assisting typists, the Boston Questionnaire was used for data collection.
