As plantas medicinais sao plantas que tem atividade biologica com um ou mais ingredientes ativos uteis a saude, com acao farmacologica benefica ao organismo humano e, por isso, sao utilizadas como fitoterapicos, especialmente em regioes e paises emergentes (FERREIRA, 1998; MATOS et al., 2018), 2014; SILVA et al., 2015; VIEIRA; SOUZA; LEMOS, 2015). O Brasil possui a maior diversidade biologica de plantas medicinais do mundo, despertando o interesse das comunidades cientificas internacionais para o estudo, conservacao e uso racional desses recursos (LORENZI, 2008; CAETANO et al., 2015). O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a qualidade microbiologica das plantas medicinais utilizadas como fitoterapicos comercializados em Londrina, Sul do Brasil: Camomila (Chamomilla recutita L.Rauschert), melissa (Melissa officinalis L.), capim doce (Pimpinella anisum L.), canela (Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume), menta (Mentha piperita) e hibisco (Hibiscus sabdariffa).
