the oxyurose is a digestive, infantile, cosmopolitan parasitosis due to Enterobius vermicularis. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of pinworms and to describe their epidemiological and parasitological profile. It is a retrospective study that included 49 samples from patients with clinically suspected pinworm infection between November 2018 and May 2019. We collected 149 anal scotch test specimens, 48 of which were positive, for an overall prevalence of 32.2%. The sex ratio M/F is 1. The mean age of our patients was 7.7 +/- 5.3 years with extremes of 1 to 30 years. The most affected age group was between 3 and 10 years old in 81%. The major clinical sign was anal pruritus reported by 35 patients (76%) followed by abdominal pain in 31 patients (67%). Of the 48 positive scotches, only one showed the presence of adult worms (1%). All positive scotches showed pinworm eggs (100%). Systematic and periodic screening for pinworm in children’s communities would be of paramount importance in the control of this parasitosis.
