A producao de biopesticidas a partir de plantas e feita por diversas tecnicas, incluindo maceracao prolongada, maceracao simples ou extracoes alcoolicas, para citar apenas algumas. Utilizando extractos de eucalipto tivemos um efeito insecticida, fungicida e para os extractos de urtiga tivemos com percentagens consideraveis em campos experimentais efeitos insecticidas, fungicidas. Para extractos de tabaco tivemos um efeito herbicida para alem dos efeitos insecticidas e fungicidas. O estudo de sua toxicidade sobre uma populacao de ervas daninhas nos deu um EC90 de 65.459 g/L. O teste fotoquimico realizado permitiu-nos identificar grupos de compostos como alcaloides, polifenois, saponinas e flavonoides.
