The parents of four-year-old Naoki are slaughtered in a clash of rivaling samurai clans. The boyis saved by his samurai uncle, and is taken to a very special and secret school in Toning. Theninja training school not only hides the little boy but also provides him with the knowledge andskills to survive. After graduating from the school, Naoki teams up with his friends to make their dreams cometrue. They rely on each other and on teamwork based on mutual trust. The small team offriends is hired for numerous tasks and is engaged in multiple adventures. As the divided countryis heading toward a great war, the boys get entangled in the political turmoil, which plays out asan interesting backdrop to the main storyline.
Through the friends’ adventures, a captivating story is unraveling, which guides us into both themartial arts world of the Far East as well as the life and thinking of ordinary Japanese people inthe 14th century.
