Esta obra propoe problematizar o papel do turismo na reorganizacao do espaco do municipio de Sao Luiz do Paraitinga, utilizando como objeto de estudo o seu Carnaval de Marchinhas. Justifica-se esse trabalho devido a preocupacao causada pela sensacao de perda da atratividade turistica que o patrimonio cultural imaterial local representa para Sao Luiz do Paraitinga apos a enchente do Rio Paraitinga em 2010. O objetivo principal e compreender os principais impactos e transformacoes gerados por este fenomeno hidrologico e climatico na celebracao e organizacao do Carnaval luizense, levando em consideracao a sua reestruturacao, a partir de um estudo de caso exploratorio.
