Um dos principais problemas ambientais existentes no Brasil e a falta de saneamento basico, principalmente a falta de esgotamento sanitario. Isso gera contaminacao de aguas e causa problemas graves de saude publica. Apenas 57,6% dos municipios brasileiros sao contemplados com rede coletora de esgoto. Este trabalho apresenta a analise dos Sistemas de Esgotamento Sanitario - SES utilizados em uma microrregiao da Bacia do Rio da Varzea, e de que forma afetam a qualidade da agua utilizada para abastecimento humano nesta regiao.
