publishing project was the desire to collect Naidenov and print archival materials on the history of the Russian cities that played a particularly prominent role in the development of domestic entrepreneurship. Having received the friendly support and good advice of the famous historian IE Zabelin, Naydenov managed to attract to the project many famous and wealthy Moscow merchants, who took over the costs of preparing and printing of the book devoted to the city, from which they were born. In total, the project involved a dozen representatives of the Moscow merchant dynasties. Modern scientific community highly appreciated the initiative of NA Naidenov, and in 1883 he was elected an honorary member of the Archaeological Institute.
