The magazine Apollo was published from 1909 to 1917 in St. Petersburg. Magazine published materials on the history of classical and modern Russian and foreign art, reviews of exhibitions, theatrical and musical life in Russia and other countries; highlights the problem of the study and protection of monuments of Russian art. The positions were determined by the magazine idealistic views and sophisticated tastes of literary and artistic elite who saw a threat to the culture of the revolution, illusions about the transformation of the art world, with its spiritual values
and perfection of form. Apollo and showed a hostile attitude to the Wanderers, and to officially state direction. The magazine published works Annensky, Blok, V. Bryusov, V. Ivanov, Mikhail Kuzmin, NS Gumilev, artistic and critical articles VA Dmitriev, AA Rostislavova NN Lunin YA Tugendhold. In 1918, in connection with the publication of a number of anti-Soviet article Apollo was closed.
