Karl August Georg Maximilian Graf von Platen-Hallermunde war einer der grossen deutschen Dichter des fruhen 19. Jahrhundert. Er lebte von 1796 bis 1835. In seinem kurzen Leben schuf er eine Vielzahl an Werken der Lyrik, Dramatik, Balladen und weitere Texte. Sein abwechslungsreiches Leben halt Platen selbst von seinem 17. Lebensjahr an in umfangreichen Tagebuchern fest. 1860, 25 Jahre nach dem Tod Platens, veroeffentlicht Karl von Pfeufer in dem vorliegenden Werk die Inhalte der Tagebucher erstmals. Das vorliegende Buch ist ein qualitativ hochwertiger Nachdruck der langst vergriffenen Originalausgabe von 1860.
