Art Meets Media Theory.

Franz Wanner’s (b. 1975 in Bad Toelz, lives and works in Munich) multimedia installations and artistic actions question techniques ofliberal power legitimation and place local realities in global contexts.

In the examination of historiographies and the production offactuality, Wanner observes, above all, players in the Germanarmaments industry and researches topics of migration and asylumpolicy, as well as the relationship of German National Socialism with the subsequent imperative of prosperity. For Wanner, this is not about the investigative moment of his research or even a historical correction, but rather an artistic method of observation - which always involves moments of uncertainty on the part of the viewer.

The monograph Foes at the Edge of the Frame mixes both dry andblack humor with systematically verifiable sources and fictitious stories through Wanner’s works from the last five years.
