Lou Andreas-Salome (1861-1937) war Schriftstellerin und Psychoanalytikerin. Schon in jungen Jahren war sie eine Beruhmtheit in deutschen Gelehrten- und Kunstlerkreisen, war mit Philosophen wie Ree oder Nietzsche befreundet, mit Rainer Maria Rilke liiert. Schon fruh schrieb sie selbst uber das seelische Leben des Menschen. Im Jahr 1911 traf sie Sigmund Freud und wurde sofort seine herausragendste Schulerin. Bis zu ihrem Tod war sie praktisch und theoretisch mit der Psychoanalyse befasst.
