UEber den Autor: 1801 in Wien als Sohn eines Advokaten geboren, tritt Johann Nepomuk Nestroy 1818 erstmals als Opernsanger auf. Es folgen zahlreiche Engagements auch in Sprechrollen in Wien, Amsterdam, Brunn und Graz bis er 1831 im Theater an der Wien als Buhnenautor unter Vertrag steht und ab 1854 das Carl-Theater leitet. Sein pointierter Witz, die scharfe Satire und der funkelnde Humor machen ihn gemeinsam mit Ferdinand Raimund zum grossen Vertreter der Altwiener Volkskomoedie. Nestroy stirbt 1862 in Graz an einem Gehirnschlag, im Juni wird er unter grosser Anteilnahme der Bevoelkerung in Wien beerdigt.
