Gerard Dagly (ca. 1660 - 1715) is said to be the greatest lacquer artist of central Europe and to have transformed Berlin into a center of lacquer ware production. His objects are unanimously described as being among the most precious pieces of their era. This catalogue is the first to assemble a large proportion of his extant oeuvre.
