Apotheker wie der Hamelner Rathsapotheker Westrumb und der Rintelner Universitatsapotheker Brockmann waren die Ersten, welche die Brunnen der Bader REHBURG, NENNDORF und EILSEN sowie den Gesundbrunnen in RODENBERG untersuchten und beschrieben. Medizinprofessoren aus Rinteln waren auch die ersten Brunnenmedici im 18. Jahrhundert. Die Geschichte dieser Gesundbrunnen und Bader wird anhand historischer Veroeffentlichungen mit Biografien der Autoren - von Accum, Brockmann, Bunsen, Du Menil, Fresenius, Schroeter, Westrumb, Wurzer bis zu von Ziegler - vorgestellt. Jedes Kapitel schliesst mit einer Spurensuche im 21. Jahrhundert.
