Als praktizierender Apotheker in Pyrmont, Meinberg und Karlshafen veroeffentlichte Georg Heinrich Piepenbring (1763-1806) zahlreiche Schriften. Er promovierte zum Dr. med. an der Universitat Erfurt. Erst mit 52 Jahren erhielt er 1805 einen Ruf an die Universitat Marburg, wurde jedoch auf eine Professor fur Chemie und Pharmazie an die damalige Universitat in Rinteln eingewiesen, die er nur fur zwei Semester wahrnehmen konnte.
