Arthur Schopenhauer Geboren 1788 in Danzig, gestorben 1860 in Frankfurt am Main, war ein Aussenseiter unter den Philosophen. Er gehoerte keiner bestimmten Schule an sondern stellte sich tapfer gegen die dominierenden Denkrichtungen seiner Zeit, indem er einen eher leiblicheren, orientierten philosophischen Weg einschlug. Menschlicher Geist, Weltgeschichte, Sinn und Ziel, dies alles sind fur ihn Illusionen. Fur ihn ist die Welt ein sinnloses Buhnenspiel von Gewalt und Qual. Der Mensch, beherrscht von irrationalen Trieben, die Weltgeschichte ohne jeglichen Zweck, ohne jegliche sinnvolle Entwicklung. Leben heisst leiden!
