Norwegian photographer Hans-Olav Forsang (born 1955) takes a theatrical approach to traditional documentary photography, creating staged pictures as well as those of actual events. Human Tonic highlights the relationship between the small everyday episodes and the larger existential questions. The photography of the Norwegian photographer Hans-Olav Forsang challenges the viewer by arousing emotions, recognition and wonder. Some pictures are staged while others are small photographic notes of actual events. After experiencing the value of documentary photography through many years, Forsang had the strong wish to liberate himself from the strict rules in the documentary genre, towards a more liberated approach to photography. This book presents the fascinating results! 16 colour, 51 b/w images
