The aim of this research is to study how internal communication inefficiency can, if at all, lead to organisational crisis. An answer to this question was found by studying theory and previous empirical research on internal communication and organisational crisis. As a result of a detailed theory analysis and study of a real life case, a new concept - internal communication crisis - was identified upon carrying out this research. Also it was established that internal communication crisis is resulting from asymmetrical formal internal communication, lack of leadership, weak organisational culture, lack of values and also active grapevine communication. This research found that internal communication crisis is directly related to an organisational crisis because there is a high possibility that in the alternative decision-making process, established as a result of an internal communication crisis, employees try to solve organisational problems by involving external stakeholders.
